Give your server and your website an address that is easy to remember. Free subdomains on atomichost.xyz are included, and you can connect a domain you already own for free too.
Everything on this page is done from your server's pages. Open your server from the dashboard, then go to Settings > Configuration > Domains, or to the Website tab if your server has a website.
A free subdomain for your game server
- Go to Settings > Configuration > Domains.
- Under Free subdomain, type the name you want, for example
myserver, and pick the domain. - Press Save subdomain.
We create the records for you, so it starts working within a minute. Players can then join with myserver.atomichost.xyz instead of an IP and port. To change it, type a new name and save again.
A free address for your website
If your server has a website (added from the Website tab), it can have its own free address:
- Open the Website tab.
- Under Free subdomain, type a name and press Claim this address.
Your site is then live at https://yourname.atomichost.xyz, with HTTPS already set up. There is nothing to install.
Names are 3 to 32 characters long and can use lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. A few names are reserved, such as www, panel or store, and a name that is already in use cannot be claimed again.
Connecting your own domain to your website
You can use a domain you have bought yourself, from Cloudflare, Namecheap, GoDaddy or any other registrar. Connecting it is free.
- On the Website tab, under Your own domain, type the exact name visitors will use, such as
www.yourdomain.comoryourdomain.com, and press Connect a domain. - The panel shows you one A record to create, with the IP address to point it at.
- Create that record at your registrar. On Cloudflare:
- Go to your domain, then DNS > Records > Add record.
-
Type:
A -
Name:
@foryourdomain.com, orwwwforwww.yourdomain.com - IPv4 address: the IP shown in the panel
- Proxy status: turn it off, so the cloud is grey ("DNS only")
- Press Save.
- Back in the panel, press Check records. DNS changes can take a few minutes, so if it says the record was not found yet, wait a moment and check again.
Once the record is found, we issue a free HTTPS certificate for your domain and renew it automatically. Your domain becomes your site's main address, and your free atomichost.xyz address keeps working alongside it.
Want Cloudflare's orange cloud? Once your domain is working you can switch the proxy on. If you do, set SSL/TLS for that domain in Cloudflare to Full (strict). The Flexible setting makes the page redirect forever.
Connecting your own domain to your game server
You can point your own domain at your game server as well, for example play.yourdomain.com.
- Go to Settings > Configuration > Domains and, under Your own domain, enter the name and choose your game server.
- The panel shows the records to create for your game:
- An A record pointing at the machine your server runs on. This one must stay grey (DNS only) on Cloudflare. The orange cloud only carries website traffic and stops players from connecting.
- For Minecraft (Java and Bedrock) and TeamSpeak, an SRV record as well, so players can join with just the name and no port. Some registrars ask for the SRV parts in separate boxes, and the panel lists each one.
- Press Check records.
Games such as Rust, FiveM, ARK and Garry's Mod do not use SRV records, so players still add the port: play.yourdomain.com:28015.
Removing an address
- Your own domain: press Disconnect on its row. We stop serving it straight away. The DNS records are at your registrar, so remember to delete them there too.
- Your website's free address: on the Website tab, press Remove this address. Your website keeps running and you can claim a new name afterwards.
What can't be connected
- Domains with
atomichostin the name. Use the free subdomain options above instead. - A domain that is already connected to another service.
- An IP address, or a name with
https://or a path after it. Enter just the domain name. - A website domain when the server has no website yet. Add the website from the Website tab first.
Something not working?
- "Waiting for records": the record is missing, has a typo, points at a different IP, or is proxied (orange cloud). The row shows exactly what we found.
- Players cannot connect through my domain: make sure the A record is grey, not orange.
- "Too many redirects" on my website: your Cloudflare SSL/TLS mode is set to Flexible. Change it to Full (strict).
Still stuck? Open a support ticket from your server's Support tab and we will help.
