Most Satisfactory setup happens inside the game, on the Server Manager screen.
Connect and claim your server
- Start your server and wait for the Console page to show it is running.
- Copy the address from the Connect card on the Overview page.
- In Satisfactory, open Server Manager from the main menu and choose Add Server.
- Enter the address and the game port, then confirm.
- The first person to connect claims the server and sets the admin password. Do this straight away, before you share the address.
Start a game or upload a save
Use the Server Manager in game. From there, you can create a new game or upload a save from your computer through its save management screen, then load it. This is simpler than moving files by hand.
Make yourself an admin
Claiming the server makes you the admin. You and anyone else with the admin password can manage it from Server Manager. You can also set a separate player password there.
Mods
Satisfactory has no Mods page in the panel. Mods are usually handled with the community Satisfactory Mod Manager, which can connect to a server over SFTP. Your SFTP details are in Settings > General. Every player needs matching mods, and mods often break after a game update.
Where the settings are
- Server Manager in game: server name, passwords, saves and most gameplay settings.
- Settings > Startup: automatic updates, the number of rotating autosaves, player limit and game branch.
- Backups: take a copy before updates or big changes, if your plan includes backups.
Good to know
- Your server and your game must be on the same branch, either the main one or Experimental. A mismatch stops you from joining.
- Your server has a second port for reliable messaging, and this is already set up. You only ever enter the game port.
- The game suggests four players, as described on the Max Players setting. Going above that may lower performance.
