A website plan hosts your own site, and you manage most things from the My website page.
Choose a website type
When you set up your plan, you choose one of these:
- Website Builder: build pages in your browser with no code.
- WordPress: we install WordPress for you.
- Your Code: upload your own HTML or PHP files.
Add your files
If you chose Your Code, open Advanced > Files and put your site in the webroot folder. Your home page should be called index.html or index.php. You can drag files in, or upload a zip and choose Unarchive from its menu.
Use a domain
Open the Domains page. You can claim a free name such as yoursite.atomichost.xyz, or connect a domain you already own.
Forms and chat
Website Builder sites also have a Messages page for form replies and a Live chat page.
Where the settings are
The Advanced section of the menu holds the less common tools:
- Console: start or restart the site and see errors.
- Databases: MySQL details for PHP sites.
- Backups: save a copy before big changes.
- Settings: SFTP details and start-up options.
