Connect
Copy the address from the Connect card on the Overview page. In Palworld, choose Join Multiplayer Game, enter the address and port at the bottom of the screen and connect. If you set a server password, you will be asked for it.
Upload a world
- Start the server once so its folders exist, then stop it. Take a backup on the Backups page.
- On the Files page, go to
Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0. Upload your world folder here, which has a long ID for a name. - Open
Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/GameUserSettings.iniand setDedicatedServerNameto that folder's name. - Start the server.
A world from a co-op game can work, but the host's character often does not carry over.
Mods
Palworld has no Mods page in the panel, and mods are not officially supported on dedicated servers. Ask us first if you want to try them, and keep a backup.
Make yourself an admin
Find Admin Password in Settings > Startup. In the game's chat, type:
/AdminPassword your-password
You need to do this each time you join. You can then use admin commands such as /KickPlayer and /BanPlayer. Commands typed on the Console page do not need the password.
Where the settings are
- Settings > Startup: server name, description, player limit, passwords, crossplay platforms and auto-update.
-
Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini: rates such asExpRateandPalCaptureRate. The file is only read at start-up, so edit it while the server is stopped. The section header at the top must stay on one line. - Backups: Palworld updates often, so take a copy before updating.
If the server stops working straight after a game update, restart it so Auto Update can bring it up to date.
