We offer standard Terraria plans and tModLoader plans for modded play.
Connect
Copy the address from the Connect card on the Overview page. In Terraria, go to Multiplayer > Join via IP. Enter the part before the colon as the IP, and the number after it as the port. If you set a password, enter that too.
Upload a world
Terraria keeps your worlds on your computer, usually in Documents/My Games/Terraria/Worlds. Look for a .wld file.
- Stop the server on the Console page and take a backup on the Backups page.
- On a standard Terraria plan, upload the
.wldfile tosaves/Worldson the Files page. - Set World Name in Settings > Startup to the file name, without
.wld. The capitals must match. - Start the server.
Mods
Standard Terraria cannot load mods. For mods, you need a tModLoader plan.
On tModLoader, upload mods to the Mods folder on the Files page. They must match your tModLoader version exactly, and every player needs the same list. Restart after changing them.
Admin
Standard Terraria has no in-game operator or admin system. You run commands from the Console page while the server is running. Some useful ones:
-
playing: lists who is online -
kick PlayerName: removes a player -
ban PlayerName: bans a player -
save: saves the world
Where the settings are
On standard plans, these are all in Settings > Startup:
- World Name, World Size, World Seed and Difficulty. Size, seed and difficulty only apply when a new world is created.
- Max Players, Password and MOTD.
- Terraria version.
Worlds are single files, so back yours up before changing anything. Automatic backups can be set on the Backups page if your plan includes them.
