A profile you have played before now launches without a connection - vanilla, Fabric, Forge and NeoForge alike. Before, the launcher asked the internet a dozen small questions on every launch and gave up if any went unanswered, and it read "can't reach Microsoft" as "your session expired", so with no Wi-Fi it refused to start at all.
Now it notices there is no connection, says so, and starts the game from what is already on your disk with the session you last signed in with. Single-player works as normal; servers need the internet, as they always did. The only thing that still needs a connection is the first launch of a profile, because the game has to be downloaded once - and if you try that offline, it tells you so instead of failing with a download error.
Turning a mod on or off, removing one, adding a file or updating something no longer throws you back to the top of the Installed list. The list stays exactly where you were scrolled to, and the rows that were already there stay still instead of all sliding in again. Same for resource packs, shaders and data packs.
The Play tab's search box now takes server addresses as well as pack names. Type one and the server drops out underneath it - its icon, MOTD, player count and the Minecraft version it runs - and Enter plays on it.
If you have played there before it launches the pack you played with; if you have played there on more than one, the arrow keys pick between them. If you have never played there at all, the launcher builds a temporary instance for it: the loader the server runs, the newest version it accepts, the mods it says it needs, and Sodium, Lithium and Iris on top. It is deleted when you close the game - unless you launch it yourself from its card, or rename, pin or file it first, which keeps it for good. Your own profiles are never touched.
If the server is listed on AtomicHost and publishes a modpack, that pack is what you get instead - installed and linked to the server so it keeps updating, or just launched if you already have it.
Adding or removing content no longer means closing the game first. Resource packs and shaders just go straight in while you play. Mods and data packs can't - the game holds those open - so they are downloaded right away and queued instead: they say "Queued" rather than "Installed", and land by themselves the moment you close Minecraft. Anything else that turns out to be in use queues the same way rather than failing, and the Content tab lists everything still waiting.
Fabric profiles no longer download every loader library again on each launch, and Minecraft 1.7 to 1.16 no longer re-download their logging config every time - both were happening quietly in the background before the game started.
A modpack that auto-updates from a server no longer waits on the update check when you are offline; it just plays the version you have.
Server admins can now hit Connect on the AtomicHost website and land in their server in one click - no join dialog and no new profile. The launcher uses the server's own pack if it publishes one, or the profile you last played there with; failing both, it builds a temporary instance that is deleted again when you close the game.
Once payment is completed, the amount you have selected will be credited to your account balance, enabling you to renew your services or place new orders.
